Rescue the Children is an 501c3 non-profit organization established to provide help to orphaned, abandoned or at risk children. Our program provides, at no cost to the children or families of the children, clothes, food, and other personal necessities in addition to educational opportunities and encouragement. We assist other organizations that are involved in improving the lives of children.
DOUBLE BLESSED!!
BLESSED, and double BLESSED!! That's the only way we can think to describe what God did for us last year. We are anticipating with excitement what more He will be doing this new year. We must thank everyone who helped us financially in the last quarter where we finished strong for the year. December was one of our busiest months of ministry and literally hundreds of people received a special Christmas blessing. Disciples of the Rock Ministry from Gatesville, TX brought 1300 presents for the children of Mexico. What a privilege for us to participate in handing out some of these to 11 pastors in Saltillo to distribute to the children and youth in their congregations. This team also gave a generous donation to purchase food for the very poor. Rescue the Children collaborated with a local ministry outreach to bless 600 people out in the rural village of Tortuga with a Christmas meal. In addition, 25 families with dire need, received a generous bag of food. It is hard to determine who exactly has the most "need" as the unemployment here is staggering. Working with the local ministries helps to insure that the supplies reach those who really are in the greatest of need. Along with food and presents, lots of donated clothing was distributed and provided necessary warmth against the unusually cold weather we are experiencing in Mexico.
The three feeding centers in Saltillo continue to serve struggling families here. Again, because of your faithful support, we were able to have a wonderful Christmas party for the families involved in the centers. For most of these children, this was the only present they received. SO WE HOPE YOU CAN SEE BY THE PHOTOS AND UNDERSTAND HOW VALUABLE YOUR PART IS IN THIS MINISTRY. Your giving is touching hundreds of lives and making a difference that can only be fully calculated at the Great and Coming Day.
As I mentioned earlier, many trained professional men and women have no work. The government is trying to create more jobs, but they are limited. The centers are serving regularly 100-150 children per day. Leftover food is served to the mothers or grandparents that are caring for the children. The rising cost of fuel and food has affected the amount of people who we are able to serve. Classes to train and equip single mothers meet weekly. In October, the centers began group therapy classes for the slightly, physically impaired and people struggling with depression or suicidal thoughts. A trained therapist is in charge of the approximately 100 people who attend the two hour session given twice weekly. The overall cost of operation per week for the centers is a minimum of $250. This includes gas for cookiing, electricity for lights, appliances, sewing machines, hair dryers, etc, plus food for 500 plus meals.
We know God is faithful and will provide for us personally and for the work He wants to continue to bless here. There is a discipleship team coming in February from Palmetto, Florida and we will have the honor or hosting them in our home. Disciples of the Rock mission team is coming back in March to participate in a medical outreach in Saltillo and some of the surrounding villages. Two other mission teams are planning to come in July. We would gladly welcome more!!August is a great month to come as the children are out of school and there are a myriad of ways to minister.
ONCE AGAIN, THANK YOU TO ALL WHO DONATED TO RESCUE THE CHILDREN IN SPITE OF THE HARD ECONOMIC TIMES IN THE STATES. We are praying that you be continually blessed back in supernatural, manifold ways.
Blessed to be a blessing, Cliff and Krista Thiele
